Real estate for all
Source : The Hindu Property Plus Published On : 2008-01-05 City : Chennai

CREDAI’s 7th National Real Estate Convention is all set to commence on January 7 at New Delhi

CREDAI (Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India) has announced that its 7th National Real Estate Convention – Natcon 2008 – will begin on January 7, 2008. Kamal Nath, Minister of Commerce & Industry, will be the chief guest at the convention and Jaipal S. Reddy, Minister of Urban Development, and Kumari Selja, Minister of State, Housing and Poverty Alleviation, will be making the inaugural and presidential addresses.

The convention with the theme ‘Real estate for all’ will be held from January 7 to 9 at Hotel Ashok in the capital.

Natcon 2008 is CREDAI’s attempt to bring together developers, real estate professionals, policy makers, financial institutions and investors under one roof to debate, discuss and explore the new avenues in the real estate sector in India.

Agenda

The deliberations and panel discussions will handle subjects such as FDI/SEZ policy and real estate; real estate indices and developer rating; reforms in real estate; affordable housing; the 21st century developer; and shifting ownership patterns.

The speakers include Deepak Parekh, Chairman, HDFC; M. Ramachandran, Secretary, Ministry of Urban Development; Harjit S. Anand, Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation; Sunil Rohokale, MD and CEO, ICICI Home Finance, S. Sridhar, Chairman and MD, NHB; and Sunil Kumar Singh, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation.

According to Ranjit Naiknavare, Member-Natcon, CREDAI, “This is our seventh national convention and with each successive year we have been getting tremendous response. This year we expect 700 to 800 delegates.

The theme ‘Real estate for all’ was chosen keeping in mind the heterogeneity in lifestyles across the country. We believe that the real estate sector will play a phenomenal part in the economy in the years to come and Natcon 2008 is our attempt to deliberate on how we could re-move the stumbling blocks in the real estate industry and streamline the course of action for the years to come”.

CREDAI is the apex body of the organised real estate developers/builders across India.

With over 3,500 members, CREDAI represents the majority of the private real estate developers operating in the country.
